Find out moreSummer in Quebec means long stretches behind the wheel, whether it is a weekend up in the Laurentians, a drive through the Eastern Townships, or a full day on the highway heading toward the Gaspé coast. Those trips are only as enjoyable as the vehicle underneath you, and that is where the Bentayga’s chassis technology earns its keep.
At the centre of that comfort is a feature that comes standard on every Bentayga: Air Suspension with Continuous Damping Control. It is not an option box to check or an upgrade reserved for a higher trim. It is simply part of how every Bentayga is built, and it plays a big role in why the SUV holds up so well on a long summer drive.
Air Suspension with Continuous Damping Control continually reads the road and adjusts the suspension to suit it, smoothing out everything from rough pavement to sweeping highway curves. It is paired with Bentley Dynamic Ride, a 48-volt active roll control system that keeps the Bentayga flat and composed through corners, along with electronic all-wheel steering that shrinks the turning circle at low speed and adds stability when changing lanes at highway speed.
Drivers also get four selectable modes: Comfort, Bentley, Custom and Sport. Comfort mode is the obvious pick for a long touring day, prioritizing a smooth ride over sharper handling, while Custom mode lets you fine-tune the engine, transmission and suspension to your own preference for that particular drive.
A few of the chassis features that make long-distance touring easier in the Bentayga:
Handling is only half of what makes a road trip comfortable. Every Bentayga comes with an upgraded Front Seat Comfort Specification, including a six-setting massage function and Postural Adjust, a system that uses air cushions inside the front seats to gently vary pressure on your muscles throughout the drive. On the lowest settings, the effect is barely noticeable in the moment, but it meaningfully cuts down on the fatigue and stiffness that tend to build up after hours on the road. Seat Auto Climate rounds things out by monitoring temperature and humidity at each front seat and adjusting heating or ventilation automatically.
For families planning longer trips, the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase adds another layer of comfort, with a 180mm longer wheelbase that translates directly into extra rear legroom, making the back seat a genuinely restful place to spend a few hours.
Beyond the standard chassis and seating technology, Bentley also offers an optional Touring Specification package built specifically with long highway drives in mind. It is a separate feature set from the air suspension, but the two work well together on a summer trip. Touring Specification adds Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Guidance, Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control, a Head-Up Display and Night Vision, giving drivers extra support on long, unfamiliar stretches of highway.
The cabin itself also stays fresher on a long drive thanks to an intelligent air conditioning system that monitors both interior and exterior air quality, reducing exposure to fine particulates and automatically switching to recirculation mode when the car detects a tunnel ahead.
