The Bentley Flying Spur is regarded as the “world’s best luxury four door grand tourer” and has proven that reputation time and time again since it launched a few years ago. Now, the Bentley Flying Spur is adding a new engine option to the lineup in the form of a new 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 that delivers an impressive 542 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque.
The new V8 will join the current V12 option that delivers 626 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The 12-cylinder option will still be the king in the Flying Spur lineup, the V8 is no slouch and powers the stunning luxury sedan to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, making the Flying Spur still one of the quickest sedans on the market.
Hand-assembly of the V8 takes over 100 hours at Bentley’s home in Crewe, the world’s first carbon neutral factory for a luxury automaker. Thanks to cylinder deactivation, the V8 will be as efficient as it is powerful, and provides over 700 kilometres of range when full.
