Bentley Mulliner

Bentley Mulliner

If there's one thing we can expect from a manufacturer like Bentley, it's jaw-dropping innovations. We have another such example with a new paint named Ombre, a bespoke creation from the Mulliner personalization division.

The paint, which was unveiled last month, is one of the most complex ever offered by a manufacturer.

This exclusive paint features an unprecedented gradient between two shades, created entirely by hand inside the "Dream Factory" in Crewe, England. It is now available to order in three carefully selected color combinations.

The process is impressively meticulous. The bodywork is first painted separately at both ends in the contrasting shades chosen for the front and rear. Then, intermediate layers, derived from a traditional blend of paints, are applied to create a gradient effect. Two specialized technicians each devote approximately 56 hours to the vehicle to achieve a fluid and harmonious transition, as each shade reacts differently to the application.

The result is spectacular, with each vehicle distinguished by a unique finish while remaining visually perfect.

The first model to receive this paint is a Continental GT Speed that was displayed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, which took place last August as part of the Monterey Car Week activities, culminating in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. In the case that was presented, the car's body transitions from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear, with a fade that follows the rear fender line. Even the 22-inch ten-spoke wheels follow this principle, Topaz at the front and Windsor Blue at the rear, for complete consistency.

Onboard

And that's not all. Inside, the Mulliner division has conceived an equally gradual treatment: Topaz leather upholstery in the front, with a steering wheel and dashboard that progressively darkens to a Beluga tone in the rear seats. A Dragonfly accent highlights the stitching and piping, while Satin Beluga veneers bring a more understated and tactile touch to the central elements and door sills.

This graded color approach puts the hue at the forefront, while integrating Bentley's flagship features like the rotating display, the Naim audio system, and the black chrome finish.

Here, Mulliner showcases its artisanal expertise and offers all Bentley customers, wherever they are in the world, the opportunity to order one of the most spectacular aesthetic signatures in history.
